Chath Puja is celebrated in most areas in India but mainly celebrated in the state of Bihar and Nepal
with great fervor and fun. Chath puja is celebrated on the sixth
Day following Diwali and is dedicated to the sun.
During this festival, women observe a continuous fast for
the 36 Hours. Many Devotees offer wheat, Milk, Sugarcane, Bananas and coconuts
to Sun.
The four day chhath puja beginning in bihar onwards Monday. On
the first day of puja, millions of devotees took a dip in rivers, ponds and
makeshift water bodies, preparing traditional meal, offering prayers to the
sun.
Chhath puja began with Ritualistic bath, before preparing
the traditional meal of boiled rice and pumpkin on earthen stove.
